Answers About The Afterlife: Discussion Two, The Big Picture

We start this section with some answers about The Big Picture.  What is our purpose in living a life on the human plane/ earth? Before we can get to the afterlife we have to discuss life itself. No matter who you are, you've made decision and choice to come to earth to have a human experience.  The purpose for that is learn "life lessons". So, with that being the case that means we actually have "life" before we have a "life on earth". We are eternal beings. Bob covers this subject quite well in Part One of the book.

Since we are eternal beings our consciousness is already alive, if you will, in the spirit realm. Our souls are eternal. Coming to earth to have a human experience and learn life lessons is part of the eternalness. The way that it has been shown to me through meditations and experiences in psychic readings and medium readings is that in a manner we all have a team that works with us, our sprit guides. Before we incarnate on earth, we have a meeting with our "team" and decide what life lessons we are going to attempt to learn in the upcoming lifetime. We also decide who we are going to work on those lessons with, our soul group. Souls in each group have agreements that they will experience certain things together in hopes of evolving from those lessons.

If you think of those lessons like classes you take when you go school, you may not get an A in the class, but that doesn't mean you didn't attend. Each of us learns in our own unique way because we are different. Even if there appear to be things that are negative experiences, that doesn't mean that we are not getting anything out of it. And while we plan the lessons, it doesn't mean we will arrive at the desired goal in the end. One of the reasons for that is because first, once we arrive on earth, we begin to promptly forget what we planned before arrival. As our souls evolve, we start remembering that purpose for our trip to earth. Once that is remembered we start looking at our experiences in a whole new light. I can only speak from my own personal experience, it makes it a little bit easier to navigate the lessons. Sometimes having these kinds of lessons coming up before you remember that's why you're here, makes it easier to not make good choices.  And I say not good choices, because just because they are not the exact right choices, doesn't necessarily mean they are totally bad either. As long as we learn something from the choices, then they are serving a purpose. Let me give you something of an example; let's say you are a young child and you see a glass in front of the fireplace, and it's pretty and fascinating so you go over and touch it; while that's not necessarily a good choice, you do learn very quickly that it's not a good choice to touch the glass in front of the fireplace because it's hot and you can get burned.  I realize this is an over simplification but one that I feel will help to make the point.  And don't we wish that all our choices were as simple as not touching the glass in front of the fireplace.

Next is the discussion about the soul and the spirit. I love Bob's description of the differences.  One I have often used is the Holy Trinity, God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. While I know that not everyone is of Christian faith, most do understand the reference.  I use this reference to explain that the Father portion of our soul remains in the spirit realm or Heaven, at all times, while the Son portion, is the part of us that incarnates onto the earth for human experiences, and the Holy Sprit is the part that brings this all together, the intuitive side that helps our higher self, the portion that remains in spirit to communicate with human incarnated part.  This is the reason that we don't ever have to be concerned that if a loved one passes and decides to incarnate again before we get back to spirit that we will miss each other in passing.  The higher self part is always there and always recognizable to the other souls in our group.

Defining God, now that's a tall order. We do have a tendency to want to define him in terms of being human, you know, two arms, two legs, physical body kind of thing.  And let's not forget we also like to attach human emotions to God, anger, vengefulness, love, we like to think that God has the same emotions that we do. God is the Source of all that is, was and ever shall be. Through the years the manner in which it has been shown to me is that when God said he made man in his image, what he was doing was giving us the power of creation of our own realities. Now, that's a mouthful and what some might say is something of arrogant statement. One reason we like to reject this concept is because if that's the case then we must take responsibility for the things that come into our lives, no matter what they are, good, bad, indifferent. When if we keep God as human like Power, we can lay all the responsibility for what is right and wrong in our lives at his feet. We can blame God or thank him without regard to what is in our lives is something that we have attracted by our own manifestation.  It's so much easier to do it that way. But what I've found through the years is when we recognize that God has given us this gift of manifestation and taking responsibility for what is showing up, that is when we start to consciously attract the things we desire, instead of waiting for some outside force to bring us what we want.

Finally, the best way to understand the afterlife.  Really, the afterlife is the before life, in other words, we are eternal.  Before we have an life on earth we are in the spirit plane. So it's life before life, life after life after life. It's tough to put it into a human concept. We are eternal beings living forever in one plane or dimension or another, it's just while we are on this plane or in this dimension we don't remember the others. With the vibrational shift that is currently going on, that is changing. We are starting to remember things that we've had locked away inside of us while we were are here.

Let's take a few days to discuss the Big Picture and then read Part Two, Questions About Death and Dying. In the meantime if you'd like to schedule a psychic reading or a medium reading, send us an email or call.
